Here's an interesting TED talk giving by Kevin Kelly (the founding executive editor of "Wired" magazine). He talks about where the Web has come in the past 5000 days and where it is going. It's worth the 20 minutes to watch all the way through.
I admit it took me a couple times to get to the end, but the talk is interesting. The neuron and machine ananlogy are striking, and the graphics are simple but effective in illustrating his points. I have shared this with a few students in class who are interested in computers. Thanks for sharing.
