Our beach house had very limited counter space, so I decided to build an island for the kitchen.

It is made from several 4"x12" wooden timbers glued together.

The shape was cut out with a chainsaw and smoothed out with a grinder. After a little sanding, a few coats of spar varnish brings out the
character in the wood.

The legs are made from 1 1/4" galvanized pipe and industrial handrail flanges.

Very Cool, CO.
Wow, impressive!
I would put flanges on the feet. You could adjust that heavy table on un-even floors, with out the small contact area of the pipe.
